Learn to fly a Gyrocopter (Gyroplane). MTOsport training to PPL(G) with GS Aviation, Marlborough, Wiltshire
Gyrocopter (Gyroplane) MTOsport flying lessons to PPL(G)
Training available 7 days a week. By the hour or intensive courses, plus trial lessons/gift voucher experiences. If you have ever fancied flying a rotary wing aircraft then consider the gyrocopter rather than a helicopter. They are great fun and will put a big smile on your face whilst using considerably less fuel, flying more quietly and being much much cheaper to fly.
Or if you are a flex wingpilot and love the feeling of wind on your face but get fed up with not being able to fly because of the wind is too strong then the gyro with 40kts wind tolerance is for you. You can learn to fly in a gyrocopter (gyroplane) with GS Aviation, a Wiltshire flying school offering gyrotraining to PPL(G) using our new MTOsport aircraft. Ground school, trial lessons and gift vouchers are also available.
The MTOsport is one of the new generation of aircraft in the UK, BCAR Section-T compliant, factory built in Germany and final assembly in the UK at Rotorsport UK Ltd's CAA approved workshops. Gyrocopters have come a long way since Little Nellie in the James Bond film You Only Live Twice and are now practical, safe and serious fun to fly machines.
The gyroplane complements our other flying activities. In many ways the aircraft is very similar to our present microlights. Same Rotax engine, same maximum take off weight, similar range and performance with the only major difference that it can land in a much smaller space. The licence required is the PPL(G) which requires more hours than the microlight but then the aircrafts abilities are much broader.

At first sight this looks like a helicopter manual however chapters 15 to 20 are on gyrocopters and it provides a lot of the technical detail about how rotary wing aircraft fly. I found this a useful read along side Phil Harwoods book mentioned above. Click here to buy the 2012 edition through our Amazon shop

MT-03The MT-03 is an all new aircraft designed and developed in Germany, and now, in partnership with RotorSport UK, has been developed to be the best in the world in showing full compliance with BCAR Section T, the toughest airworthiness standard around for Sport Gyroplanes. The aircraft will also have the proud distinction of being the first two-seater to have done so. It's an aircraft which is "right" from the ground-up, featuring:
Calidus - Enclosed cockpit 2-seater Gyrocopter
Subject to the success of training in our MT-03 we may order an enclosed two-seater in 2013 as a progression and to allow us to bring more new people in on the training.
